About How Quant

I'm a software developer. How Quant is a personal site: benchmarks, setup notes, and fixes from running local AI on two machines. One is a workstation with two NVIDIA RTX PRO 5000 GPUs (72 GB + 48 GB); the other is an AMD Strix Halo box (Ryzen AI Max+ 395).

What you'll find here

• Benchmarks from my own systems, with the configuration used for each test.
• Setup instructions and commands for software I use.
• Troubleshooting notes explaining the symptoms, what I tried, and what worked.
• Small tools for planning model memory use and image or video dimensions.

Reading the results

Every result lists the hardware, software versions, and settings it was measured with, so you can compare them against your own machine. Units follow one convention: GiB for measured memory and file sizes, GB for marketing/spec capacities.

I update articles as I learn more. If a correction changes an earlier result or recommendation, I note the change on the article.
